Recently I’ve heard about several incidents where bicyclists have been hit by cars. A friend in Savannah was hit on her rear wheel sending her flying off the bike causing road rash and broken rib(s) down her left side. Thankfully she’s ok but there was another incident several days later which resulted with the individual dying. All this on the same highway. Another local story here in the Dallas area caught my attention as well. A female triathlete was out riding around 8pm and was struck from behind by a car. She’s now in the hospital in critical condition fighting for her life. The worse part, it was a hit & run, they are in search of her attacker. Thankfully for her, she was wearing a Road ID anklet which holds contact information for this exact situation. If you haven’t heard of Road ID and you’re active outside (running, cycling, roller blading, etc.) please check them out. This one small item could be what saves your life. I urge you to purchase one. In fact, I just purchased one over the weekend and should receive it early next week.
