Excited!

Ok, so I’ve allowed life to get in the way of me training for a triathlon.  The intended race scheduled for Sept. 26 is now a no go.  September is now upon us and the season is quickly coming to an end, I figured I’d concentrate on running and biking this fall and hold the tri til next season.  So, I signed up for the Komen Race for the Cure 5k on Oct. 16 in Dallas.  This will get my butt moving in the running department.  With that being said, I checked Active.com for races left in Texas for Oct & Nov and was excited to see one for Nov. 6 in McKinney!  Cooper Ranch does a sprint with a pool swim (heated outdoor!) and then a normal bike/run course.  This is 9 weeks away, so plenty of time to train as long as I don’t allow any excuses!  New goal now, run on Oct. 16 and tri on Nov. 6!!  Enthusiasm has been restored!!

Breast Cancer Awareness

You’re wondering, what does breast cancer awareness have to do with triathlon training………………..absolutely nothing!  However, it’s a topic that is near and dear to me and I’ll use any method to get the information out.  For several years now I’ve had an account with Cafepress.com to help promote breast cancer awareness and the proceeds going to the Komen foundation.  Recently I decided the logo needed revamping so I changed it.  It’s more girly and very pink!  Cafepress has been great as well by adding new products that the stores can sell.  If you get a moment, check it out and if you have an upcoming breast cancer function, think about a new t-shirt to wear showing your support!
